Arctic Watch Greenland is a community-driven Facebook group formed by locals in East Greenland to raise awareness about the risks associated with open borders and the growing presence of private vessels in our waters. We aim to inform our politicians and authorities about the increasing number of unregulated private vessels and cruise ships entering Greenland’s territorial waters. Some of these vessels are suspected of engaging in illegal mineral extraction, while large cruise ships threaten our delicate environment, potentially leading to catastrophic incidents like oil spills that could damage wildlife and habitats.
